Suit of the Week: Talbots

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which ought to be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional. As noted in our recent roundup of lightweight blazers, cotton piqué can be a great alternative to linen — so I was thrilled to see all of the colors Talbots provides for these suiting separates. I’ve imagined navy and pink, but they’re also available in white, red, and “spa blue.” The sheath dress is lovely, and the blazer looks great if you choose a longer shape. There’s also a pair of matching ankle pants, if that’s your jam. The jacket (Cotton Piqué Jacket) is $169, and the dress (Cotton Piqué Sheath) is $129; the pants (not pictured; Talbots Hampshire ankle – Cotton Piqué) are $69.30.
